  • This treatise bears a certain affinity to the "Physiologus"" of Epiphanius , and the "Physiologus Syrus," edited by Tychsen (Rostock, 1795), but is of much greater extent.

Seventeen paper leaves, about 6 1/8 in. by 4 1/4 taken from the original binding of Add. 25,878, of which manuscript they now form foll. 71—87. They are all stained and soiled. The quires, signed with letters (foll. 79 and 87), were 19 in number. There are from 9 to 18 lines in each page.

Hand 1 (major, Unspecified Syriac script): The writing is by two hands (foll. 71—81 and 82—87) of the xvth cent., with numerous Greek and Syriac vowels.
Hand 2 (minor, Unspecified Syriac script): See additions.
