Physical Description

Vellum, about 10 7/8 in. by 7 3/8, consisting of 172 leaves. The quires, signed with letters, were 20 in number, but ܓ and ܕ are now lost. Leaves are also wanting after foll. 2, 126, and 132. Each page is divided into two columns, of from 32 to 40 lines.

Hand 1 (major, Estrangela script): This volume is written in a good, regular Estrangela.
Hand 2 (minor, Unspecified Syriac script): A somewhat later hand has written pieces on the first and last leaves of the volume.
Hand 3 (minor, Unspecified Syriac script): See additions.

Addition 1 (Fol. 171b): After the doxology, fol. 171 b, we find the following note, which gives the name of the scribe, George, and the date of the manuscript, A. Addition 2 (Fol. 172a): A note on fol. 172 a, in the handwriting of the scribe, mentioned the names of certain monks of Edessa for whom the volume was written; but the names of "Stephen and his brother" and of the "convent of the holy Mar Joseph, on the Euphrates, in the district of Mabūg," are later alterations.
