Physical Description

Paper, about 12 3/4 by 8 1/2, consisting of 318 leaves, some of which are slightly stained and torn, especially foll. 1—3 and 314—316. The quires, signed with letters, are 33 in number. Leaves are wanting after foll. 97, 151, and 247. Each page is divided into two columns, of from 19 to 29 lines. This volume is dated A. Gr. 1749, A.D. 1438.

Hand 1 (major, West Syriac script): This volume is written in a good, regular hand, with numerous Greek vowels (� � � � �) and other marks; dated A. Gr. 1749, A.D. 1438. A priest named Theodore. See additions. The original description of this manuscript by William Wright includes characters, symbols, or illustrations which cannot be represented. Please consult the attached image, vol. 1, p. 61.
Hand 2 (minor, Unspecified Syriac script): The work of the priest Kamar from the village of Dair Balī. See decoration description.
Hand 3 (minor, ): Arabic and Karshūnī.See additions.
Hand 4 (minor, ): Syriac, Arabic, and Karshūnī.See additions.

Addition 1 (Fol. 1a): On fol. 1 a there are notes in Syriac, Arabic, and Karshūnī, but all more or less stained and effaced.
Addition 2 (Fol. 316a): On fol. 316 a there is a note, stating that this volume was written A.
