Physical Description

Vellum, about 5 1/8 in. by 3 7/8, consisting of 91 leaves, many of which are much stained and soiled. The quires are signed with letters; but several are missing at the beginning and end, and there is a lacuna after fol. 8. Some other lacunae have been supplied by a later hand. The number of lines in each page varies from 18 to 22.

Hand 1 (major, Unspecified Syriac script): The greater part of this manuscript is written in a small, neat hand of the ixth or xth cent.
Hand 2 (minor, Unspecified Syriac script): Foll. 42—44, 49, and 80—91 are the exception, which are of the xiith or xiiith cent.

Eighteen vellum leaves, about 5 1/2 in. by 3 7/8, the last two quires (ܝܗ and ܝܘ) of a manuscript (Add. 18,819, foll. 92—109). There are from 17 to 21 lines in each page.

Hand 1 (sole, Unspecified Syriac script): The writing is neat and regular. These vellum leaves are dated A. Gr. 1195, A.D. 884.

Addition 1 (Fol. 108a): On fol. 108 a, there is a note, stating that the book was written and bound by a man from the village of Gadmin. His name has, however, been erased, and that of Simeon substituted. ܐܬܚ̇ܦܛ ܘܩ̣ܢܐ ܐܘܿܟܝܬ ܟܬ̣ܒ ܘܕܒ̇ܩ ܣܝܡܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܪܘܚܢܝܬܐ [ܫܡܥܘܢ] ܡܚܝܠܐ ܘܐܟܣܢܝܐ ܕܡܢ ܓܕܡܝܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܏ܘܫ.
