Contents

This manuscript contains 3 item(s) including nested subsections. N.B. Items were re-numbered for this online catalog and may not reflect William Wright's previous numeration.

Item 1 (Fol. 1a): Ephrem. A portion of the discourses of Ephraim against false doctrines, addressed to Hypatius. [defective]

Title:

Title:
Notes:
  • The words ܕܣܝ̈ܡܢ ܥܠ ܐܬܘ̈ܬܐ would appear to imply that there were 22 of these discourses, each commencing with a letter of the alphabet, in the usual order, like those of Aphraates(Add. 14,619 and 17,182); but this seems unlikely, as the second discourse begins with the letter ܦ(ܦܪܘܫܐܝܬ). Besides, there is no mention of alphabetical arrangement in Add. 14,570.
  • The rest of this manuscript still exists as a palimpsest in Add. 14,623
  • Cf. Overbeck, S. Ephraemi Syri etc. Opera Selecta, p. 21.; Overbeck, p. 59.
Item 2 (Fol. 1b): Ephrem. Part of a portion of the discourses of Ephraim against false doctrines, addressed to Hypatius.Part of a portion of the discourses of Ephraim against false doctrines, addressed to Hypatius.

Notes:
  • See Add. 14,570, fol. 1b, and Overbeck, S. Ephraemi Syri etc. Opera Selecta, p. 21.

Additions

Addition 1 (Fol. 1a): Of the notes on fol. 1a, the upper one has been erased, and the other merely contains one of the usual anathemas:
Addition 2 (Fol. 2a): The marginal note on fol. 2 a mentions some other works that were once bound with this manuscript.
